Terms of Use and License

These terms apply when you get a key for or use the Desktop Carpet app. They're written to be read, so they're short. If you live in a country whose consumer laws give you more protection, those laws still apply to you: nothing here takes away rights the law gives you.

1. Who we are

Desktop Carpet is designed and built by MCAN2 (mcan2.com) and published by Teddy Production Teknoloji ve Danışmanlık Ticaret Limited Şirketi, a limited company registered in the Istanbul Trade Registry (MERSİS no. 0833120871700001, registry no. 1024649), Namık Kemal Mah. Sütçü İmam Cad. No: 88 İç Kapı No: 6, 34762 Ümraniye, İstanbul, Türkiye. “We” and “us” in these terms means the publisher.

2. What you get, for free

Desktop Carpet is free. You get a key on our website without paying and without a card: we only ask for your email address, so we can send you the key. The key unlocks the Desktop Carpet app for Windows 10 and 11 and for macOS 12 or later, on up to 3 computers, with every rug in the app and each new rug or pack as it comes out. A key has no end date.

Activating a computer needs an internet connection, and the app checks your key online from time to time. The same key works on Windows and Mac, and every computer you activate counts toward its limit of 3. You can free up a computer from inside the app, and you can get another key whenever you need one.

Desktop Carpet never moves, changes or deletes your files. The rug only covers part of your desktop on screen, and your files stay in your Desktop folder.

3. Getting your key

Your key appears on the website as soon as you ask for it, and we email you a copy. Keep it somewhere safe. If you lose it, look for that email, use “Lost your key?” in the app, or just get a new one.

We send you news emails only if you tick the box for them when you get your key, and every news email lets you unsubscribe. Not ticking the box changes nothing about your key.

4. Your license

We give you a personal, non-transferable right to use Desktop Carpet on up to 3 computers with each key.

Please don't sell keys, copy, change, reverse-engineer or redistribute the app or its rugs (except where the law allows it), or try to get around the key checks. If a key is used against these terms, for example to get around them or in large numbers by a script, we may suspend or cancel it.

5. Rugs and content

The app, the rug designs and this website belong to us. The rugs are for your own desktop. Screenshots for personal use and for sharing on social media are fine.

6. Warranty and liability

We make Desktop Carpet with care, but we can't promise it will work on every computer or without interruption. It's free, and we provide it as it is. As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for losses that come from using it. This doesn't limit liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit, such as for intent or gross negligence, or your statutory rights as a consumer.

7. Changes

We may update these terms and will show the date of the latest version at the top of this page. If a change matters for you, we'll also say so on the website.

8. Law and disputes

If you're a consumer, the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live keep protecting you, and you can bring a claim there. Please write to us first: most problems are solved by email.
