Pick a rug from the menu bar or the system tray. It lands on your wallpaper, under your windows.
- Lift a corner
Grab any corner and pull. It folds back like real wool, with a shadow and all.
- Sweep
Drag files into the gap, or select everything and push it in at once.
- Let go
The corner drops and the mess is gone. The files never moved on disk. Lift again to get them back.

FAQ
Things people ask before sweeping.
Are my files actually under the rug?
No. Your files never move on disk. They stay in your Desktop folder, and the rug only covers them on screen. Lift a corner to get them back, or open the Desktop folder in Finder or File Explorer as usual.
Will it slow down my computer?
The rug is a single image that only redraws while you move it. When it's lying still it sits idle.
Does it work on Windows?
Yes. Desktop Carpet runs on Macs with macOS 13 Ventura or later (Apple silicon or Intel) and on PCs with Windows 10 or 11. One subscription covers both.
What happens to my rugs if I cancel?
You keep every rug you collected while subscribed. New rugs stop arriving.
Can I use one subscription on a Mac and a PC?
Yes. Your plan counts computers, not operating systems, so you can mix a Mac and a Windows PC.
